Abbeys Primary School Parent Portal - Newsletter 3, Autumn 1, 2026

We would like to take a moment to celebrate our wonderful pupils and recognise the empathy, resilience and kindness they have shown since returning to school.

Abbeys is a diverse and inclusive community, and our children work hard to understand and respect the needs, experiences and differences of others. We have been incredibly proud to see how well they have settled into their new year groups, welcomed new children into our school family and adapted to support one another through the changes and transitions that come with a new school year.

Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do at Abbeys. We want every child to feel that they belong, that they are valued for who they are and that they have an important place within our school community.

Thank you to our pupils for showing such patience, understanding and kindness towards one another. These are the qualities that make Abbeys such a special place to learn, grow and belong.

Tintern and Turvey have been very busy exploring, learning and discovering lots of new things! They have been learning new phonics sounds and developing Their maths skills by matching and finding pairs. They have also had lots of fun getting outdoors at Forest School and have enjoyed learning how to express how they feel. It has been a fantastic few weeks of learning, exploring and having fun together!

In Marham, we have been looking at Egyptian Shadufs.

The children created their own prototypes.

Mrs Burton's art club have been very busy! They have been recreating the art of Sonia Delaunay. Delaunay was a French artist born in 1885.

Years 5 and 6 have been learning about different pencil techniques in art.

They have been focusing on recreating Greek architecture using shading and tones.

Kevin has been working really hard at home with his lego.

He has created a lego car carrier. Well done Kevin.

You worked really hard on these.

A huge well done to Ianis, you have been working really hard with your Karate and we are so proud of your progress.

Mrs Ivan mugged Miss Cahill for always helping others around the school.

It is very true that Miss Cahill is always so kind and generous with her time.

We have really enjoyed having the swimming pool in school, but next Monday we end our swimming lessons for the year and from Wednesday we will be starting Forest school!

Please ensure that your children have waterproof clothing and wellies in school and are ready to get mucky.

So far we have 3 volunteers.... can you help?

We are currently accumulating a vast amount of lost property, much of which cannot be returned to its owner because it is not named.

Please check that coats, jumpers, PE kits, water bottles, lunch boxes and other personal belongings are clearly labelled.
